Winter driving

This lesson plan for ESL beginners teaches basic vocabulary and safety tips for driving during Canadian winters. The lesson includes both vocabulary skill-building and skill-using exercises (including video and audio activities). The lesson also encourages students to discuss their own winter driving experiences and safety tips.

What’s new: Week of Nov. 11/24

This lesson plan focuses on teaching ESL students the names and meanings of common traffic signs in Canada. The lesson plan includes activities such as a video, quizzes, and discussions about traffic rules. Students reflect on any differences in traffic regulations between Canada and their home countries.

What’s new: Week of July 1/24

Three new ESL lesson plans! First, guide advanced beginners through getting a driver’s licence in Alberta. Second, teach students vocabulary for going through airport Customs. Third, focus on airport check-in vocabulary using role play and other practice activities. Two new videos are included in these lesson plans.
