Why do we celebrate Victoria Day?

Most Canadians celebrate Queen Victoria’s birthday on May 24. This lesson plan focuses on Victoria Day as part of the history of the monarchy in Canada. We will also learn and sing Canada’s royal anthem, “God Save the King.” Activities include vocabulary learning, singing practice, and reflection on personal connections to national anthems.
