Warm-up: Introducing the topic and defining our terms
- Today, we’re going to learn how to ask for help in a grocery store.
- What are groceries?
- What is a grocery store?
- What are grocery sections? (Note: You can use the words “sections” or “departments” here. In this lesson, we’ll use the word “sections.”)
- Can you name some grocery sections?
- What are some ways you can ask for help in a grocery store?
Skill-building activities
- Match the food image and word* 🔊
- Match the section image and name* 🔊
- Where is the food?* (Answer each question with a complete sentence, if possible.)
- Listen to the vocabulary again* (Ask students to pay attention to how the words sound and to think about what they mean. Students are also introduced to grocery store sections.) 🔊
